The scent of freshly cut wood has always felt nostalgic, and takes me back to going to the hardware store with my Dad as a kid! I don't know how often we actually went, but for some reason every time I walk into a hardware store it feels familiar :) Perhaps it's because he was (and is) always working on something in the basement... cutting wood, metal, pipes or fixing something! He's the epitome of a handyman, and for that reason (of course) I will dedicate this painting to him!!!
