I have a wonderful guest blogger post today from the lovely, Lianne! She has put together some inspiration and ideas about the perfect, vintage style wedding! Enjoy:
Your wedding day is a big milestone, it’s a day all about you and the things you love and cherish. So it’s no surprise that vintage style weddings are so popular all around the world, they’re the right amount of girly and can be described as sophisticated & stylish. You don’t have to break the bank either, lots of budding brides actually make their own decorations with friends and family to make their day not only more personal but also more cost effective. Below are a few examples of vintage décor ideas that any blushing bride can make or get their hands on.
Table plans are really important to think about at your wedding, everyone is going to look at them so you want them to be as clear as they can be. Giving the tables their own “names” or colours can really help, displaying the tables visually can be quite fun, you could even get your children or your friends children to draw you some pretty pictures to go with your seating plan.
These vintage wedding flower ideas are just divine. You don’t have to have them as your centre piece or even your bouquet, just having them lying around here and there can make the look go from plain to fabulous. They add that much needed colour to your surroundings and can smell amazing.
Props add something special to your wedding, it makes the ceremony more personal to yourself and the people around you and can make the day feel more homely. Little signs or tables with tea sets on them can really shine through when decorating your vintage wedding. Let your creativity take over, make your surroundings the way you envision them to be.
Everybody loves a cheeky cake or two, so every wedding should have a smell selection of them for guests to tuck into and take home with them just to top the day off. You can buy or make your own decorations, from small dainty flowers to lace patterns and edible pearls. They’ll look so good you won’t want to eat them!
Every wedding should give out wedding favours to show your wedding guests your appreciation of them being there for you as you turn from Miss into Mrs. Home-made pots of jams or sweets are a fun little gift, or even just small personalized notes to say thank you. It’s the least you can do and it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg to do.
These can be used for all sorts at your wedding and are visually pleasing. They can hold flowers or sweets on tables or they can be dotted around with candles in to create an awesome atmosphere. You can also have lanterns hanging from the ceiling, or trees if you’re having an outdoors wedding.
